INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Q’Ties Cyber Travel Kit! This blog space has been established as part of a cyberlearning assessment piece for our own university studies. We have chosen you – Middle Years Learners – as our target learner group, to assist you in becoming information literate individuals.

Structure

We have chosen the subject of geography as our guiding framework for developing this cyberlearning tool. You will find that each of our blogs focuses on a particular country, the environment, or geography in general, to aid you as you develop your own information literacy.

Who are we?

We are a virtual team operating within a Masters of Learning Innovation course. We have each selected an aspect of the information literacy development process to focus on in detail, to assist you in becoming information literate individuals. We have each developed a blog consisting of information, learning activities and online sources of further information, relating to different stages in the information literacy development process:

Cheryl: introduction to information literacy

Yachiyo: information seeking strategies

Robee: using search engines and indexing web sites

Kate: using information appropriately, effectively & efficiently

Maree: multiple intelligences and different learning styles

Myleah:

Objectives

As a virtual group Q’Ties has developed this online learning resource, seeking to bring you a range of information and learning activities which will help you develop your own information literary skills. We have developed this resource based upon our knowledge that information processes are a fundamental aspect of education, leisure, lifestyle and work, in the knowledge-rich, digitally-driven 21st century globe in which we live.
